SPENCE AWARE OF THURMAN’S WITHDRAWAL IN TSZYU FIGHT

Thurman’s (30-1, 22 KOs)  withdrawal in his fight against Tim Tszyu (24-0, 17 KOs) due to an injury is not lost on Spence (28-1, 22 KOs), who is taking time to make his comeback fight.

“Nahh,”  Spence simply replied when asked whether he would be interested in taking on the 35-year-old Thurman.

Thurman cited a biceps injury as the reason for withdrawing against Tszyu, who will take on Sebastian Fundora (21-1, 13 KOs) instead in Las Vegas on March 30.

SPENCE NOT YOUNG TO WAIT ON THURMAN

The 34-year-old former unified world welterweight champion is not young enough to wait for Thurman to recover from any injury.

Spence is also not keen on taking fighters with a history of dodging big fights, in this case, Thurman.

Spence last fought on July 29 last year, when he lost to Terence Crawford by TKO as he yielded the WBA, WBC, and IBF welterweight belts.
