IBA STILL STRIPPED OF IOC RECOGNITION

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Tuesday rejected the IBA’s appeal to be reinstated to the Olympic family.

Boxing will still be played in the Paris Olympics this year under the supervision of the IOC.

The IOC will now ask the national boxing federations and the national Olympic Committees to find a new international federation by next year.

If no federation replaces the IBA soon, boxing will not be held in the 2028 LA Olympics.

IBA TO APPEAL CAS DECISION TO SWISS TRIBUNAL

The IBA is looking to take its case to the Swiss Federal Tribunal to overturn the CAS’ decision.

“The IBA will refrain from further comments until the CAS award has been thoroughly analyzed by its legal experts,” the federation said.

The IBA claimed the CAS and the IOC had ignored its extensive reforms. The federation on Wednesday had made considerable progress.
