Keith Thurman wants to fight Crawford, other high-profile boxers

Keith Thurman wants to check off his boxing bucket list by facing high-profile boxers, including Terrence Crawford.

Thurman, 35, will face Tim Tszyu at a catchweight bout of 155 pounds on March 30 as the headliner.

Since 2017, Thurman has fought only four times.

Dubbed “One Time”, Thurman scored unanimous victories over Danny Garcia and Joselito Lopez.

However, his first and only career defeat came at the hands of former eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao.

Talking about his fight, Thurman said he wants to train at a high-altitude level to compete against Crawford in the future.

“It is hard to leave [home],” Thurman said on the Premier Boxing Champions livestream on Instagram. “I feel very comfortable. If anything, when they talk about competing with [Terence Crawford], right? People know Bud trains at high altitude, and I would never give a fighter that kind of advantage.”

“If I have to step in the ring with Crawford, I want that to be on an even playing field, baby,” Thurman said. “I would want that to be at a high altitude. I would want to put my body through that.”

Thurman last faced Mario Barrios in February 2022.

It seems that Thurman might call it a career anytime soon, and he wants to make the most out of his career by fighting Crawford and other big names in the sport.

“It is something I never added to my regimen,” Thurman said. “I always said if I fought Floyd [Mayweather], if I fight Spence, I should’ve done it for Pacquiao. Shoulda, woulda, coulda – didn’t. So it is something in the back of my head, and I do need to stop playing with these boys and give this sport my best.”
